230/460V motors support part-winding start at 230V, while 380–415V motors enable star/delta starting for seamless integration.
Features a steel ball non-reverse ratchet to prevent reverse rotation, enhancing operational safety.
Modular installation
Compact vertical design minimizes footprint, with the pump reaching deep wells up to hundreds of meters, reducing installation costs by submerging the unit underwater.
Large-window pump base streamlines maintenance and packing replacement.
Adjustable performance
Adjustable nut optimizes impeller axial clearance for peak efficiency.
Customizable materials and processes, like epoxy-coated flow paths or silica sol precision casting, adapt to diverse operational needs.

Designed for deep-well turbine pumps, our three-phase asynchronous squirrel-cage rotor motors excel in handling significant axial forces, ensuring reliable performance for vertical solid-shaft pump systems.
Installation Instructions
Screw the coupling bolt into the pump coupling, ensuring it remains vertical.
Remove the motor’s top cover.
Clean the mounting surface, then vertically align the motor over the pump shaft onto the base flange support. Secure with fastening bolts.
Firmly connect the motor to the pump shaft coupling.
Inject high-quality bearing lubricant (viscosity 13–16.5 mm²/s) through the motor’s oil fill port.
Add lubricant per the motor’s label, typically below half the sight window level, unless specified otherwise.
Excess lubricant may flow into the motor via the shaft sleeve or be flung out during rotation—this does not affect normal operation, so clients can use with confidence.
After verifying the installation, replace and tighten the motor’s top cover.
Operational Notes
Equipped with thermal and short-circuit protection devices; set current according to the nameplate.
If frequency deviates by 1% or voltage by 5% from nameplate values, continuous rated power cannot be guaranteed.
Whether loaded or not, the motor must not produce irregular sounds or vibrations. Operating temperature must not exceed 95°C.
FAQ
Why choose SEMC’s NEMA Standard VHS Motors for water pumps?
Our NEMA Standard VHS motors are specially designed to deliver high torque and strong axial thrust, enabling water extraction from hundreds of meters underground, making them ideal for deep-well pumps with high-lift capability where reliable vertical motion is critical.
What are the available cooling systems for the main bearing?
Our NEMA Standard VHS motors offer multiple cooling options for the main thrust bearing, including oil lubrication, oil cooling, and water cooling.
What types of bearings are used in SEMC’s NEMA Standard VHS motors?
We use both thrust bearings and heavy-duty bearings, depending on the application load. Our high-thrust configurations can withstand up to 26,000 lbs of axial thrust, ensuring stability during operations.
Are the NEMA Standard VHS motors compatible with VFD?
Yes, our VHS motors are fully compatible with VFD systems, supporting VHD starter and operations.
What are the available protection ratings and environmental sealing options?
Our NEMA Standard VHS motors are available in multiple protection grades, including IP23, IP54, IP55, and IP56. We also offer housing options like WP-I, WP-II, and TEFC to ensure reliable operation in dusty, humid, or outdoor conditions.
Do SEMC’s motors comply with Middle Eastern laws and regulations?
